Absentee voter information released
Board of Elections information
The Ohio Secretary of State’s Office recently mailed absent voter applications to all registered voters in Van Wert County (and the rest of the state). Between now and Election Day (Tuesday, November 6), voters may receive a number of absentee applications from political parties, special interest groups, etc. Just to clear up any confusion, voters may either use the form they receive from the Secretary of State or call the Van Wert County Board of Elections (419.238.4192), which will send voters the same forms previously sent out.
Those who are not currently registered in Van Wert or need to make a name or address change will need to stop by the Board of Elections office by 9 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, in order to vote on November 6.
Early voting will begin at the offices of the Board of Elections on Tuesday, October 2. New office hours beginning October 2 will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, through October 19. Beginning on October 22, hours will extend from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday for the remainder of early voting.
Any questions concerning registering or voting early may be answered by calling the Board of Elections office at the above telephone number.
