VWMS boys win Crestview CC meet

VWMS cross country information

CONVOY — The Van Wert Middle School boys were victorious at the Crestview Cross Country Invitational last evening.  The Cougar harriers finished first in the field of eight teams.

Thane Cowan and Sam Easley led the charge for the Van Wert squad, earning third and fourth place honors, respectively. Dylan Lautzenheiser, 10th; Tyler Nygren, 12th; and Nathan Murphy, 15th; rounded out the scorers.  Also running for the Cougars were Ryan Keber, Jared Shaffer, Cade Chiles, Nick Gutierrez, Max Sealscott, Ben Scheidt, Stephen Hamblett, Carter Eikenbary, Korey Oechsle, Brayden Cox and Noah Brubaker.

Although the Van Wert ladies had several positive performances on the evening, they did not fair as well in the team standings.  WBL foes Celina (50) and Defiance (53) edged the Lady Cougars (54) in the tightly contested race.

The Cougars were paced by Cassidy Meyers, who finished in fourth place. Other Cougars contributing to the score were Natalie Riethman 11th; Julia Springer 14th; and Iliana Ramon, 17th.  Larissa Laudick rounded out the top five with a 20th place finish.

Other Cougar runners included: Morgan Bracken, Chloe Boroff, Sammy Allmandinger, Kylee Bagley, Maggie Cripe, Olivia Profit, Aimee Nicolai, Nykee Billingham, Courtney Sanderson, Valerie Barnhart, and Hannah Bartley.
