Knight volleyball team downs Jefferson

CONVOY — The Crestview Lady Knights varsity volleyball team hosted Delphos Jefferson in a Northwest Conference match won by the Knights in straight games: 25-13, 25-12, and 25-21. Crestview is now 4-2 overall and 1-0 in the NWC.

The Crestview junior varsity team also came out on top by scores of 25-14 and 25-15, to go to 1-5 overall and 1-0 in league play. The Knights will be back in action on Thursday as they travel to Lima Central Catholic for a league match-up with the T-Birds. Match time is 6 p.m.

Leading the way against Delphos Jefferson were:

Serving – Mekale Clifton, 21/23 with five aces; Haley Helm, 14/15 with one ace; Kirstin Hicks and Kennis Mercer, 8/8.

Setting – Helm, 24 assists.

Hitting – Hicks, 12 kills; Courtney Trigg, 7 kills; Clifton and Megan Hartman, 5 kills each.

Digs – Tianna Rager, 16 digs; Helm, 7 digs.

Blocking – Trigg, 9 blocks, 3 stuffs; Helm, 7 blocks, 2 stuffs; Hartman, 7 blocks.
