VW v-ball team beats Paulding in 4
Van Wert volleyball information
PAULDING – The Van Wert Lady Cougar volleyball team was back in action on Saturday when it traveled to Paulding to take on the Paulding Lady Panthers in a non-conference match.
The first game went to the Cougars by a score of 25-16, but the Panthers put up a fight in the second game to win 22-25. The third game started slow, with Van Wert giving up the first six points, but the Cougars came back to win, 25-12, and also took the fourth game, 25-22 for the win.
Van Wert is now 5-2 on the year and second in the Western Buckeye League with a 2-0 record. The Cougars return to action today as they travel to Lima Shawnee for a WBL match rescheduled from its original date. There will be varsity, junior varsity and freshman matches, with action beginning at 5 p.m.
The Van Wert JVs were defeated by Paulding in two games: 13-25 and 21-25. The freshman team won in two games, 25-17 and 26-24.
