OTTAWA — The Lincolnview cross country teams competed at the Ottawa-Glandorf Blue/Gold Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.

The boys’ team placed second behind St Henry. Leading the Lancer varsity team was Bayley Tow, who finished in sixth place finish in a time of 16:55.  He was followed by three teammates who all placed in the top 20 of the race: Jeff Jacomet (12th) 17:30, Ben Bilimek (13th) 17:31, and Alex Rodriguez (20th) 17:49.

Rounding out the top five scoring was Skyler Whitaker (30th) 18:15, while Trevor Neate and Travis Lippi placed 40th and 44th, respectively, to finish out the varsity scoring.

On the girls’ side, Anna Gorman placed 18th in a time of 21:50 and Taylor Miller placed 32nd in a time of 22:32.

“The kids took full advantage of the fast course and perfect weather conditions,” said Lincolnview Coach Matt Langdon. “Every single Lancer ran a season best today, and many ran career bests.  It was a fun day and a great way to begin this next phase of our season.

“We still have some work to do, but I really like the attitude and approach that the kids are taking,” Coach Langdon added. “And because of their hard work, they were able to enjoy the results today.  We are looking forward to running close to home this coming weekend at the Van Wert Invitational.”
