VWMS runners win Wapak CC meet
VWMS cross country information
WAPAKONETA — It was victory all around for the Van Wert Middle School cross country teams last evening at the Wapakoneta Middle School Invitational. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams won in the seven field tournament.
As always, it was the Cougar pack that cinched the team title for the boys. Thane Cowan finished fifth, Dylan Lautzenheiser sixth, Ryan Keber seventh, and Sam Easley ninth. Not far behind them were Nick Gutierrez, 12th, Tyler Nygren, 16th, Nathan Murphy 17th, and Jared Shaffer 18th. Also running for the Van Wert squad were Cade Chiles, 21st; Ben Scheidt, 30th; Max Sealscott 35th; Christopher Frank 41st, Stephen Hamblett 42nd; Korey Oechsle 44th; Carter Eikenbary 47th; Noah Brubaker 55th; and Brayden Cox 56th.
The girls’ race was much closer. The Van Wert squad squeaked by second place Wapak by just four points. Cassidy Meyers was the first Cougar across the line in fourth place. Natalie Riethman also had a top 10 finish in seventh place. Next were Julia Springer 14th, Larissa Laudick 15th, Iliana Ramon 16th, Morgan Bracken 18th, and Chloe Boroff 27th. Other Cougar finishers included Maggie Cripe 35th; Kylee Bagley 37th; Sammy Allmandinger 38th; Olivia Profit 45th; Courtney Sanderson 48th; Gabby VanHorne 52nd; Hannah Bartley 53rd; and Valerie Barnhart 54th.
