VWCH cross country meet coming up

The 33rd annual Van Wert County Hospital Cross Country Invitational hosted by Crestview Middle and Senior High School will be held Saturday, September 22, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

A total of 38 schools will participate in this invitational, which will start with an elementary half-mile fun run at 8:30 a.m. for third graders and under, and an elementary 1-mile fun run for fourth through sixth graders at 8:40 a.m.

Middle school boys and girls races follow at 9 and 9:30 a.m., respectively, while the varsity boys’ blue division (small school) race begins at 10 a.m. and the varsity boys’ red division (big school) race follows at 10:40 a.m. Varsity girls’ blue and red division races follow at 11:20 a.m. and noon.

Awards will be presented at 12:45 p.m.

Schools involved in the Van Wert County Hospital Invitational in the Blue division include St. Wendelin, Stryker, Ottoville, Pettisville, Kalida, Edgerton, Antwerp, Perry, Minster, St. John’s, Ayersville, Mohawk, Spencerville, Crestview, East Canton, Lincolnview, New Bremen, and Columbus Grove.

Schools in the Red division include Parkway, Lakota, Tinora, Allen East, Wayne Trace, Bluffton, Fairview, Coldwater, Paulding, Ottawa-Glandorf, Kenton, Van Wert, Bryan, Wauseon, St. Marys, Elida, Shawnee, and Lima Senior.

Schools participating at the middle school level only include Celina and Holy Rosary (St. Marys).
