Senior group cancels candidates’ forum

Due to a lack of interest, the Van Wert County Council on Aging has canceled the 82nd District Ohio House District forum that was scheduled for October 17. The agency apologizes for any inconvenience this causes.

Subsequently, on October 17, the Council on Aging will instead be hosting an informational session regarding the influenza vaccination. This session will be during the Lunch n’ Learn Series from 11 to 11:30 a.m., and will be hosted by Community Health Professionals at the Senior Center, 220 Fox Road.\

The event will include a short presentation regarding flu shots and the importance of receiving one. After the presentation, flu shots will be administered by Community Health Professionals staff members. Those interested in obtaining a vaccination should bring their Medicare cards. Those interested in eating lunch should contact the Council on Aging by 3 p.m. the day prior to the event.
