F. George Berres

F. George Berres, 89, of Delphos, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2012, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert.

He was born May 8, 1923, in Delphos, the son of the late Frank and Barbara (Kimmet) Berres. On August 12, 1950, he married Marilyn (Eickholt) Berres, who preceded him in death on May 13, 2012.

Survivors include six children, Robert (Margie) Berres of Cincinnati, Marcia (Daniel) German, Gary (Brenda) Berres, and Carol (Tom) Schulte, all of Delphos, Gloria (Nel) Schroeder of Ottawa and Darlene (Larry) Geise of Hilliard; a sister, Veronica Johns of Carmel, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A brother, Clarence Berres; four sisters, Elizabeth Hickey, Florence Miller, Sister Mary Florence Berres and Leona Cook; and two grandchildren, Mark German and Wesley Schroeder, also preceded him in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 25, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Chris Bohnsack officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Delphos.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Monday, September 24, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake will be held at 7:30 that evening.
