Richard O. Brown

Richard O. Brown, 82, of Cloverdale, died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert.

He was born January 2, 1930, in Lima, the son of the late Robert Oliver and Martha Jane (Bollinger) Brown. On June 19, 1981, he married Janet Wieging, who preceded him in death in November 2005.

Survivors include three sons, Michael (Brenda) Ricker of Delphos, Mark (Becky) Ricker of Ottoville and Gary Brown of Urbana; 11 daughters, Julie (Keith) Kleman of Venedocia, Kathy (Wayne) Risner and Laura (Philip) Johnson, both of Grover Hill, Margaret (Michael) Pavel of Van Wert, Deanna (Chris Vonderau) Jewell of Convoy, Elaine (Chuck) Metcalfe and Amy (David) Zalar, both of Delphos, Malinda Ricker of Van Wert, Linda (David) Neth of Lima, Robin (Jeff) McGinnis of Westminster and Kellly (David) Butler of Lima; two brothers, Fred Brown and Jim (Marlene) Brown; a sister, Karen (Larry) Henchen; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Two sons, David and Timothy Ricker, also preceded him in death.

Per his request, no public services will be held.

Preferred memorials: Community Health Professionals-Hospice of Delphos.

Arrangements were handled by Bayliff & Son Funeral Home in Cridersville.
