Haunted Woods coming up soon

Information submitted

Since the Van Wert Community Club took over the Haunted Woods in Hiestand Woods Park, the task put in front of them has been: ”How can we make this enjoyable for the entire community”?  Now, the club has the answer to that question.

Would you want to meet up with this scary creature on a dark night. You can by going to the Hiestand Haunted Woods in October. (photo submitted)

The Community Club has designed the Haunted Woods to be separated into two different activities. One half of the woods will be family oriented where any age can enjoy games and activities that are not scary. The other half of the woods will be for those who want to be scared.

The Hiestand Haunted Woods is located next to Van Wert County Hospital. Find it on the web at http://hiestandshauntedwoods.com or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/HiestandsHauntedWoods.

Hours this year will be 8-11 every Friday and Saturday night in October. The cost to get into the “family” side of the Haunted Woods will be $2 per person (2 and under free) and $8 per person for the “scary” side.

Van Wert Community Club supports the food bank at Trinity Friends Church and will take $1 off admission to attend the “scary” side for a canned good donation at the ticket booth.

The big “Kids Day” event that the community highly supports will be held Saturday, October 20, from 1-3 p.m. The entire family can come out during the day when the monsters are asleep for $2 per person and walk through the woods, get some candy, take part in costume judging contest and have fun with the many activities the club has put together.
