Luis Salas Sr.

Luis Salas Sr., 105, of Paulding, died Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at The Laurels of Defiance.

He was born August 19, 1907, in Puertode Lacanela, Mexico, the son of the late Rosemdo and Guca (Garzia) Salas. On August 4, 1934, he married Guadalupe (Gonzales) Salas, who preceded him in death on September 27, 1985.

Survivors include three daughters, Esperansa (Charlie) Gonzalez and Angelica Rodriguez, both of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Sulema “Sue” Hernandez of Paulding; three sons, Conrado Salas of Sarasota, Fla., Humero Salas of Fort Wayne and Jesses Salas of Antwerp; a sister in Monterey, Mexico; and many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

Six children, Amelia, Romalia, Roberto, Olivia, Richardo and Luis Jr.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers; and a sister, also preceded him in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 29, at Divine Mercy Catholic Parish in Paulding. Burial will follow in Cooper Cemetery in Paulding Township.

Calling hours are from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
