Richard Keith Davis

Richard Keith Davis, 80, of Rockford, died at 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford, where he had been a patient.

He was born November 14, 1931, the son of the late Orval “Jack” and Evelyn (Counterman) Davis. On March 20, 1955, he married Mary Ada (Everett) Sheets, who preceded him in death on September 26, 1993.

Survivors include two sons, Rick (Kathy) Davis and Steven (Crystal) Sheets, both of Rockford; one daughter, Dawn (Doug) Coffey of Powell; a sister, Sharon Ames of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A brother, Melvin Davis, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 27, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Chip Steffy officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford, with graveside military rites performed by the Rockford American Legion post.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Friday, October 26, and an hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
