As fall activities come to a close, athletics and organizations prepare for their wintertime events. Fall sports are coming to a close by playing their final games and running their final races.
Girls’ basketball began their conditioning this week and the boys’ team will continue their conditioning that began last week.
The varsity football team plays their final game of the season at Paulding tomorrow. Senior Shayne Goings said, “It is going to be very disappointing when the clock hits zero tomorrow night. I am going to miss playing with these guys. You don’t realize you’re done forever until it’s really over.”
Under the direction of Christa Gasser, FCCLA held its annual lock-in last weekend. Members were able to stay the night at the school and participated in a night full of exciting activities. There was a murder mystery, a movie and a scavenger hunt. All of the members had a great time.
The Crestview chapter of the National Honor Society will be holding its annual induction ceremony on Sunday. Many new members including both juniors and seniors will be added to the group. “I am looking forward to all of our community service hours and getting to know each other this year in NHS,” said senior member Amanda Lobsiger.
The music department is putting their finishing touches on the fall musical, A Year with Frog and Toad. They have put in many hours of rehearsals since September. Senior musical cast member Zach Taylor said, “I am most looking forward to the ‘Cookies’ song during the show. It makes me so hungry.” Also in the music department, the Marching Knights perform in their gridiron show on Saturday. At this performance, the band will perform their competition show for the last time of the season.
