Ruth P. Wolverton

Ruth P. Wolverton, 88, of Ottawa and formerly of Van Wert, died at 10:40 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012, at the Meadows of Kalida.

She was born August 12, 1924, in Dupont, the daughter of the late Roman J. and Florence (Hittle) Williams. On August 15, 1944, she married Donald Eugene Wolverton, who preceded her in death on October 7, 1992.

Survivors include three sons, Gerald M. “Jerry” Wolverton of Ottawa, Donald P. (Priscilla) Wolverton of Leipsic and Randy P. (Victoria) Wolverton of Convoy; four daughters, Marilyn (Larry) Middleton of DeMotte, Ind., Susan Stevens of Ottawa, Janet (Jim) Schnipke of Miller City, and Elizabeth C. “Liz” (Ken) Simindinger of Cloverdale; a brother, Art (Alice) Williams of Delphos; 27 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

A brother, Carl Williams; one sister, Susan Williams; and a daughter-in-law, Joyce Wolverton, also preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 27, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, with Father Stan Szybka officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 3-8 p.m. Friday, October 26, and from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Saturday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, where a prayer service will be held at 8 Friday evening.

Preferred memorials: Bridge Hospice in Findlay.
