Van fire on Lincoln Highway

Quick work by firefighters from Van Wert and Convoy fire departments prevented a van fire from spreading to a residence at 10071 Lincoln Highway, just west of U.S. 224, early Thursday afternoon. Firefighters called to the residence at approximately 1:20 p.m. Thursday found a van belonging to a firm doing work at the house in flames while parked near the garage. Firefighters were able to put the fire out quickly and keep it from spreading to the house, but some heat damage was reported. (Dave Mosier/Van Wert independent)
