Lincolnview Local Board of Education honored FFA as part of its February meeting, and also took a number of personnel actions during the meeting.
The board unanimously adopted a resolution proclaiming the week of February 19-26 “National FFA Week” in the district, while FFA advisor Tony Campbell was joined by Lincolnview FFA Chapter vice president Casey Patterson at the meeting (see photo at right).
District Treasurer Troy Bowersock and Legislative Liaison Eric Germann also discussed House Bill 30, which gives the State Board of Education additional policy-making powers, with Bowersock saying some evidence-based funding model requirements provided in the legislation will not be implemented this year, according to State Superintendent of Instruction Deborah Delisle – something he said was a positive for Lincolnview and other school districts.
Bowersock also talked about open enrollment, noting that the district will net an additional $640,000 from students coming into the district.
Also on Tuesday, the board granted one-year supplemental remediation contracts for extra duties related to elementary achievement assessment intervention, up to 10 hours per teacher at an hourly rate of $16.26. Teachers given the contracts include the following: Patti Cox, Chad Kraner, Christie Wendel, June Young, Jeri Lipp, Marsha Owens, Matt Alessandrini, Kathy Thompson, Ellen Hemple, Amy Overholt, Kim Evans, Nicole Early and Malinda Shellabarger.
