Max R. Barrientos

Max R. Barrientos, 85, of Van Wert, died at 11:35 p.m. Thursday, November 22, 2012, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

He was born November 16, 1927, in Fort Wayne, Ind., the son of the late Serbando R. and Juana (Moreno) Barrientos. On June 3, 1961, he married Barbara A. (Goodwin) Barrientos, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include two children, Lance A. Barrientos of Van Wert and Matthew R. (Misty) Barrientos of Decatur, Ind.; two brothers, John Barrientos of Rensselaer, Ind., and Richard (Juanita) Barrientos of Van Wert; an uncle, Louie Lianez of Van Wert; six grandchildren; and two cats.

Six siblings, Robert “Bob” Barrientos, Margaret Nieto, Arthur Barrientos, Serbando Barrientos Jr., Vangie Hutchins and Josephine Rayer, also preceded him in death.

A private funeral service will be conducted at a later date. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

There will be no calling hours.
