Winter wishes

By Calib Cunningham

Students came back to school this week from a normal weekend and had one exciting thing on their mind: A SNOW STORM.  Students threw out numbers of 5-8” to 18-22” of snow.  “I think it’s going to be awesome because we may get out of school some this week,” said Casey Gibson when asked what he thought of this storm.  As good as cancellations may sound seniors probably don’t want them because school after graduation doesn’t sound appealing.

Teachers have a different take on this winter storm.  According to junior high teacher Mr. Hotmire, “It’s going to be a bad thing if it hits the magnitude they are predicting because that’s a blizzard and they are never a good thing.”  Believe it or not seniors are more than likely leaning toward the teacher’s side on this one.  Whichever side of the fence students are on, no opinion can sway the direction of this storm.

This week is also the start of the second semester as students survived exam week and are ready to hit the second half of the school year with a positive attitude.

“The elementary is looking forward to participating in the district food drive,” said elementary principal, Kathy Mollenkopf.  Details for the elementary food drive are still under construction by student council.
