Helen Bolinger Spoon

Helen Bolinger Spoon, 84, of Van Wert, died at 1:59 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born July 25, 1928, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Frank and Mabel (Chase) Bolinger. On December 27, 1946, in Van Wert, she married Jerry F. Spoon, who survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Linda (Wayne) Knodel Taylor of Van Wert; one sister, Betty (Noel) Moore of Bradenton, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Bolinger of Van Wert; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A brother, Kenneth Bolinger, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, December 8, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Van Wert, with the Rev. William C. Haggis II officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 3-7 p.m. Friday, December 7, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
