Velone L. Bricker

Velone L. Bricker, 94, formerly of Rockford, died at 5:25 a.m. Thursday, December 20, 2012, at Elmwood Assisted Living in New Bremen.

She was born March 9, 1918, in Liberty Township, Mercer County, the daughter of the late Ezra and Nellie (Gray) Laffin. On March 29, 1941, she married Lowell Stanley Bricker, who preceded her in death on June 17, 2001.

Survivors include two daughters, Judith (Larry) Coppess of Minster and Joyce Miller of Fon Du Lac, Wis.; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A brother-in-law, Kahl Bricker; one sister-in-law, Madonna Bricker; a son-in-law, Dr. David Miller; one granddaughter, Christian Miller; and a stepson, Steven Miller, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 27, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pasto Gary Hohman officiating. Burial will be in Swamp College Cemetery in Celina.

Calling hours are from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
