Crestview girls’ basketball information
CONVOY — The Crestview Lady Knights and the Continental Lady Pirates both came into Monday night’s matchup with identical 9-1 records. The Knights outscored Continental in each quarter through three to lead 34-25 going into the final stanza.
The Lady Pirates, ranked No. 11 in first Division IV Associated Press. poll, made a late charge in the fourth quarter, but Crestview was able to hit key free throws down the stretch to come out with a 49-44 victory.
With the win, the Lady Knights move to 10-1 on the season.
Crestview was led in scoring by Kennis Mercer and Emily Bauer, who had 11 points each. Mackenzie Riggenbach and Kirstin Hicks scored nine and seven points, respectively, in the winning effort (click here for more game stats).
Continental won the junior varsity contest by a basket, 26-24.
Crestview will next be in action Thursday when the Knights travel to Lincolnview to face their cross county rivals in what may prove to be a key Northwest Conference matchup.
