Alan Ray Whirrett
Alan Ray Whirrett of Paulding died quietly following surgery at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima at 11:15 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2013.
He was born March 11, 1928, in Paulding County, the son of the late Bill and Edith (Haney) Whirrett. On July 28, 1951, he married Deloris (Reinhart) Whirrett, who survives in Paulding.
Other survivors include a son, Donald Whirrett of Paulding; one brother, Robert (Melba) Whirrett of Indianapolis, Ind.; an aunt, Betty Copsey of Payne; and three nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, January 11, at Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Paulding. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery in Paulding, with graveside military rites performed by American Legion Post 587.
Calling hours are from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, January 10, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding, where a Rosary service will be held at 6:30 that evening.
Preferred memorials: Masses, Friends of Felines Rescue Center or a charity of donor’s choice.
