Lady Lancers gets win over Kalida

The Lincolnview Lady Lancers battled the Kalida Lady Wildcats in a non-conference contest on Tuesday and came away with the win, 45-38, thanks to a strong finish down the stretch.
Kaitlyn Brant led Lincolnview with 12 points, while the Dye sisters, Katie and Claire, each had 9 points for the Lady Lancers. Kylie Osterhage had 9 points for Kalida, while Brittany Kahle added 8 points for the Lady ‘Cats.
Both teams played mostly even the first half, with an 8-all tie at the end of the first quarter and a one-point lead for Lincolnview, 17-16, at the half. The Lancers were able to open the lead to four points in the third quarter with an 11-8 spurt and finished with a 17-14 run in the final quarter.
With the victory, Lincolnview is now 9-3 on the year, while the Wildcats fall to 7-4.
The Lancers were 17 of 31 (54.8 percent) from the field and hit 9 of 16 free throws (56.3 percent). Kalida had more attempts, but hit only 12 of 56 field goals in the game (21.4 percent). The Wildcats were 11 of 25 at the line (44.0 percent).
Lincolnview had the edge in rebounds, 26-25, although the Wildcats had 12 offensive rebounds to just 2 for the Lancers. Kalida had only 14 turnovers, to 23 for Lincolnview.
