Lillian R. Saam

Lillian R. Saam, 81, of Van Wert, died at 9:44 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born April 11, 1931, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Rolo and Grace (Miller) Taylor. On April 7, 1962, she married Carl J. Saam Sr., who preceded her in death on December 26, 2005.

Survivors include two children, Lori (Jeff) Rayer of Van Wert and Lisa (Steve) Foley of Angola, Ind.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A son, Carl J. Saam Jr.; nine brothers, Clyde, Jim, Ben, Bill, Virgil, Vondale, Ray, Eugene and Welcome Taylor; and four sisters, Mable Lee, Ethel Tyas, Betty Rout and Lois Williamson, also preceded her in death.

Private family services will be conducted, with burial in Evangelical Protestant Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.

There will be no calling hours.
