Charitable Putt Putt Golf tourney set

There are only a few weeks left to get a team ready for Van Wert’s first indoor charity Putt Putt Golf tournament: Putt Around Van Wert.

Local businesses have been busy designing and building the hole they area creating for the event, to be held on Friday, February 1.

Play will begin and end at Elks Lodge 1197 on Van Wert-Decatur Road. Event organizers estimate the course can be completed in as little as 2-3 hours, but for more leisurely play, the course is open between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. that day and can be played in any order.

Cost is $80 per team if registered before January 21. After that, registration increases to $100 per team. Sign up at any of the participating businesses or send checks payable to the Van Wert Community Club with team name and members listed to P.O. Box 741, Van Wert, OH 45891. Proceeds from the event go to local youth enrichment programs.

Participating businesses include Kennedy-Kuhn, StateWide Ford-Lincoln, Moose Lodge 1320, Van Wert Bedrooms, Lee Kinstle GM Sales & Service, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, Sears, Fricker’s and Elks Lodge 1197.
