In the absence of Superintendent Mike Estes, Metzger also handed out certificates recognizing board members Motycka, Auld, Lori Bittner, Lonnie Nedderman and Mike Schlagbaum as part of School Board Recognition Month.

During its regular meeting, the board heard reports from Elementary Principal Kathy Mollenkopf, who first provided an update on the district Pride Committee, Middle School Principal Dave Bowen and High School Principal Mike Biro.

Also during the meeting, the board accepted, with thanks, the following donations: $500 from Daniel Miller, $931 from the Klein Trust of The Van Wert County Foundation for needy children, and $1,000 from The Van Wert County Foundation.

The board also approved a transfer of $1,596 from the General Fund to the Class of 2014 Fund, and also approved the second and final reading of board policies, as recommended by NEOLA.

The next meeting of the Crestview Local Board of Education will be at 6 p.m. Monday, February 18, in the district boardroom.
