CONVOY — Crestview soared out to a 14-0 lead and never looked back in the 59-24 thumping they delivered to Wayne Trace on Monday night.

Sophomore forward Lindsey Motycka led in scoring with 21 points, along with six steals on the defensive side of the ball, while freshman Emily Bauer was dominant with six blocks, 11 rebounds, and 15 points. The third Lady Knight in double figures was sophomore point guard Mackenzie Riggenbach, who racked up 15 points and nailed 7 of 12 field goal attempts. Wayne Trace had no one in double figures, but was led by Sylvia Young’s 5 points.
Crestview shot a solid 51 percent for the game and was equally solid defensively, forcing Wayne Trace into 21 turnovers and holding the Lady Raiders to 30 percent shooting on the evening. The Lady Knights hit 23 of 45 field goal attempts (51.1 percent) and were 3 of 12 from three-point range (25 percent). Crestview was impressive from the free throw line, knocking down 10 of 11 free throw attempts (90.9 percent). The Lady Raiders were 9 of 30 from field goal range (30 percent), including 1 of 7 three-point attempts (14.3 percent), and made 5 of 8 free throws (62.5 percent).
The Lady Knights dominated the boards, bringing down 27 rebounds (8 offensive) to just 8 for Wayne Trace. Crestview had 12 turnovers to 20 for the Lady Raiders.
Crestview moves to 19-2 on the season and will be in action again Thursday as they close out the regular season when Columbus Grove travels to Convoy for Northwest Conference action.
Wayne Trace was victorious over Crestview in the junior varsity contest 28-21.
