Betty Louise (Grunden) Garver

Betty Louise (Grunden) Garver, 81, of Paulding, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at the Gardens of Paulding.

She was born July 20, 1931, in Paulding County, the daughter of the late Walter and Bernice (Copsey) Casper. On July 21, 1947, she married Robert Ray Grunden, who preceded her in death on June 9, 1995. On November 9, 1998, she married Richard O. Garver, who survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Robert Grunden Jr. of Antwerp and Larry Shaffer of Millersburg; four daughters, Betty Andrews of Oakwood, Darlene (Dan) Knapp and Kathy (Robert) Halbern, both of Latty, and Deborah Dougal of Paulding; a sister, Marilyn (Dale) Taylor of Bryan; one brother, Robert (Lois) Casper of Napoleon; 16 grandchildren; a stepgrandchild; 24 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Rollan Myers and John Casper; a sister, Shirley Blair; one stepdaughter, Dawnette Aldred; a stepson, Ned Garver; two grandsons; and a great-granddaughter, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 16, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding, with the Rev. Ben Lowell officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Memory Gardens in Defiance.

Calling hours are from 2:30-8 p.m. Friday, February 15, and an hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
