Virginia Mead Yarger
Virginia Mead Yarger, 85, of Van Wert, died Thursday, February 14, 2013, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

She was born Thursday, January 26, 1928, in Oakwood, the daughter of the late Warren Mead and Eva Cloud Mead. On August 5, 1950, she married Gerald Duane Yarger, who preceded her in death on October 11, 2001.
Virginia was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary and St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Elida. She enjoyed reading.
Survivors include three sons, Kevin L. (Colleen) Yarger of Bowling Green, G. James (Beth) Yarger of Bluffton and Jonathon M. (Elizabeth) Yarger of Chardon; two daughters, Kerry A. (Bob Flores) Childs of Bluffton and Eva Jane Yarger of Van Wert; eight grandchildren, Alan Childs, Eric Childs, Kevin Childs, Alexandra Yarger, Amanda Yarger, Andrew Yarger, Benjamin Yarger and Megan Yarger; one great-grandchild, Hailey Slusser; and a brother, Robert C. Mead.
A son, Michael S. Yarger; four brothers, Werdin “Bill” Mead, Jack C. Mead, Gene Mead and James Mead; and eight sisters, Marguerite Stevick, E. Lucille Mead, Juanita Moore, Helen Kimbrell, Alice “Peg” Maurer, Murita Mead, Marilyn Zawacki and Margean Ellis, also preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, February 18, at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Elida, with Pastor Paul Scannell officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Elida.
Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, February 17, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima.
Preferred memorials: St. Paul United Methodist Church in Elida or the American Cancer Society.
