Luella Marie Good

Luella Marie Good, 90, of Van Wert, died at 1:53 a.m. Thursday, February 21, 2013, at her residence.

She was born March 26, 1922, in Burkettsville, the daughter of the late Ora E. and Preska M. (Myers) Walls. Luella was married to Maynard Wade, who preceded her in death. On May 2, 1986, she married William R. Good, who also preceded her in death.

Luella is survived by four children, Penny (Robert) Barker of Van Wert, Karen (Bill) Nostrant of Cloverdale, Nicholas J. (Penny) Wade of Van Wert and Ory (Gary) Perl of Convoy; three stepchildren, Nancy (Tom) Keltner of Colorado, Bonnie (Tim) Haines of Maryland, William R. (Cindy) Good III of Columbus; 13 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

A granddaughter, Amy Jo Roop; two sisters, Garnet Robinson and a sister who was stillborn; and one brother, Paul Walls, also preceded her in death.

Luella was a Licensed Practical Nurse for Dr. Floyd McCammon for many years. During the 1970s, she was a city income tax administrator and worked a L & K Restaurant. In the 1980s, she owned the Candy Carnival store and was at Heritage Coin and Antique Shop in the 1990s. Luella was a past commander of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Disabled American Veterans organization, a member of Good Shepherd Church of the Nazarene in Van Wert and was also the patient service chairman for Multiple Sclerosis and was named the Van Wert “Business Woman of the Year.”

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, February 25, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Stuart Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow in Ansonia Cemetery in Ansonia. A meal will be served at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803 in Van Wert at 11 a.m.
