Lady Cougs win sectional title

The Van Wert Lady Cougars eked out a one-point victory, 29-28, over Napoleon to win a Division II sectional basketball title on Saturday. Erin Morrow (above) was the Cougars’ leading scorer with 13 points, while Kayla Gerken led all scorers with 14, for Napoleon. Van Wert will next play Thursday at 6:15 p.m. against Lima Bath in a district semifinal game. Below, Livia Butler cuts down a section of net after the sectional title win.
