Knights Prepare for Spring Events

The Crestview music department has been working on their upcoming dinner theatre show on March 22-23. “An Evening of One Hit Wonders” is the theme for this year’s show. Making their appearance is junior high swing choir, high school chorus, Knight Vision, Jazz Band, and Concert Band. They have all prepared a variety of songs from one hit wonders and along with solos, duos, trios and many other performances from the students.

Crestview Band went to district contest in Van Wert on Friday March 8. They qualified for state finals for the first time since 2005. Senior Thomas Lichtensteiger said, “We got a one. We’re going to state and we’re leaving a legacy.“

Spring sports have gone in action as middle school and high school track has begun, as well as middle school and high school baseball and softball. All athletes have started their conditioning and are ready for the spring season to start.

Also Crestview football lifting has started for off-season preparation. Every morning the team is in the weight room at 6 a.m. preparing for their upcoming season.

Kristie McCormick’s photography class visited Wright State University in Celina on Friday, March 8, for a presentation on the evolution of photography. Students joined others schools in hearing and seeing how digital cameras have changed the field of photography. Senior Darcci Swager said, “It was interesting to see how cameras have evolved over the years.”

Crestview Model United Nations had a conference at Hope College in Holland, Michigan, where seniors Shelby Ripley and Venice Roberts received first place honors for their “Emergency Security Council Crisis” as representatives from the Republic of India. Roberts commented, “It was really cool getting an award in our committee.” Other students attending included Morgan Klinger, Josh Lichtensteiger, Chloe Lautzenheiser, Jordan White, Kameron Grubaugh, and Dylan Henry.
