David T. Thomas

David T. Thomas, 85, of Van Wert and formerly of Grover Hill, died early Friday morning, March 15, 2013, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

He was born January 9, 1928, in Morenci, Mich., the son of the late John W. and Rosie (Adams) Thomas. He married Beverly (Knotts) Thomas, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include four children, Julie (Manuel) Rhodes, Susan Moorman, Paula J. (Danny) Mullins and Steven (Melissa) Thomas, all of Van Wert; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, John E. and Clarence E. Thomas; a sister, Mary Ankney; and one brother-in-law, James C., Knotts, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, March 18, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, March 17, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or the Van Wert Men’s Bowling Association.
