C’view honored by OSBA

Crestview Local School District was acknowledged at the OSBA Northwest Ohio Spring Conference March 14, earning the first place Humanitarian Award for the district’s “Walk for the Dealeys” project. Nominated by Ottoville Local Board of Education member Kevin Landin, Crestview also assisted the OSBA in reaching its theme for 2012-13:  Recognizing 26 acts of kindness in the Northwest Ohio Region. The project encompassed Crestview students organizing a walk-a thon to raise money for Mark and Sandra Dealey’s six children after an automobile accident took the life of their mother. While the original walk-a-thon took place in January, Crestview students are busy planning another walk-a-thon for the Dealeys this spring. In addition to the students’ efforts, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans matched a portion of the proceeds raised by the Crestview student body.
