Council on Aging to host Purse Bingo

On Friday evening, June 14, the Van Wert County Council on Aging will host a Designer Purse Bingo event at the senior center, 220 Fox Road in Van Wert.  During the event, authentic designer purses will be given away, with the majority of the purses being by Coach.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at the senior center Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $15 if tickets are purchased by June 1.  After that date, the cost for any remaining tickets will be $20.

Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and the “early bird” games will begin at 6 p.m. Early bird packets will be available for $5.

Following the early bird games, the fun will continue with 20 more Bingo games that will be played for authentic designer purses. There will also be several raffles, a 50/50 drawing, and a “spin the wheel” drawing. Food will be available and door prizes will be given out.

The high cost of fuel is a huge problem for the Council on Aging.  Every day the organizations has 2-3 vans on the road from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.   Many area seniors require trips to medical facilities outside the county, so the Council on Aging routinely makes trips to Fort Wayne, Ind., Defiance, Celina, and Lima.  The Purse Bingo fundraiser will assist the agency in providing these much needed services to area senior citizens.
