Cougar tennis team edges St. Marys

The Van Wert boys’ tennis team battled the wind and the St. Marys Roughriders and came away with a 3-2 Western Buckeye League win on Tuesday.

No. 3 singles player Nick Etter and the No. 1 doubles team of Luke Stevens and Jon Lisa and the No. 2 doubles team of Alex Bair and Eli Alvarez all won in three-set matches.

Van Wert Coach Mitch Price was excited about the win.

“We are a young team that will get better,” Price noted. “I am excited to see this team get better each day.”

The Cougar tennis team will have another league test this Friday against Ottawa-Glandorf.
