Lancer baseball team downs Ada
Lincolnview baseball news
ADA — The Lincolnview Lancer baseball team had another good outing, beating the Ada Bulldogs 3-2 in Northwest Conference action on good defense and the strong pitching of Eli Farmer.
“Eli has had three outstanding starts in a row,” said Lincolnview Coach Kevin Longstreth. “He is doing a good job of throwing all of his pitches for strikes. The defense did a pretty good job, for the most part; we had two mistakes that cost us two runs, but Eli worked his way through it.”
The Lancers scored first in the top of the first inning and added a run in the third inning for a 3-0 lead. The Bulldogs rallied near the end of the game, scoring a run each in the sixth and seventh innings, but it wasn’t enough to beat Lincolnview.
“We cane out once again at the start and put pressure on and scored runs early,” Coach Longstreth noted. “We, however, could not get a big hit when we had guys in scoring position. We need to do a better job of having quality at-bats and knowing what kind of pitch we are looking for.”
With the win, Farmer is now 3-1 on the year, while the Lancers are 4-6 overall and 2-1 in the NWC.
“It was important for us to come out and get a win,” the Lincolnview coach added. “A conference win is always a good win.”
