Cindy S. Preston, 63, of Van Wert, died at 6:35 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born January 30, 1950, in Van Wert, the daughter of Virginia (Woebbeking) Preston and Richard “Dick” Preston, who both survive in Van Wert.

Ms. Preston formerly worked at the Thomas Edison Workshop in Van Wert. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Convoy and a former member of the Special Olympics. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and a NASCAR fan, especially Dale Earnhardt Jr.

In addition to her parents, survivors include a brother, Rick (Alicia) Preston of Van Wert; four sisters, Sandee (Steve) Greulach of Van Wert, Cheryl (Terry) Cunningham of Van Wert, Pam (Keith) Walsh of Convoy and Robin (Troy) Childs of Van Wert; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, who she adored and who adored her, each and every one of them, and loving referred to her as “Aunt Cinny.”

A sister, Linda Dickey, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Convoy, with the Rev. Rita Baer officiating.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, and an hour prior to services Sunday at the church.

Preferred memorials: Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center or Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
