Lancers edged by Crestview in baseball

Lincolnview baseball news

CONVOY — The Crestview baseball team eked out a 3-0 victory over the Lincolnview Lancers during a Northwest Conference game played Tuesday at Crestview.

Although losing pitcher Eli Farmer (3-2) had a good day on the mound, the lack of offensive production doomed the Lancers, said Lincolnview Coach Kevin Longstreth.

“We had another quality outing form Eli Farmer again tonight and played well enough defensively; we just need to continue to make progress at the plate and have more consistent swings,” Coach Longstreth said.

The Knights scored a run in the first inning and added two insurance runs in the fourth inning en route to the win.

“We have struggled at the plate as a team for too long and need to start to see some of the adjustments that we talk about day to day,” Coach Longstreth added. “We need to see some of these players make more progress offensively and continue to work to become better hitters.”

Lincolnview is now 4-9 overall and 2-3 in the NWC, while the Knights are 8-3 overall and 5-0 in league play.
