Van Wert SWCD to host pond clinic

Planning to have a pond built? Have a pond related question? Weeds becoming a problem? Like to stock fish in a new pond?

For the answers to these and many other questions, plan to attend the pond clinic sponsored by the Van Wert Soil and Water Conservation District.

The clinic will be held on Tuesday, May 21, at 6:30 p.m. at the Karen Jean Myers pond, 9835 Richey Road, west of Van Wert,

The clinic will feature presentations on pond construction, stocking the pond, liability of a pond, and aquatic vegetation management.

The clinic is free of charge and is open to the public.  It will be held weather permitting. Contact the Van Wert SWCD at 419.238.9591 if the weather is questionable. Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Refreshments will be provided by the SWCD.

Directions to the clinic are from Van Wert: Take U.S. 224 west to Richey Road, turn north and go seven-tenths of a mile. The Myers house and pond are on the east side of the road. Signs will be posted.
