Eaton gives $71,000 to local groups

Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton has announced several “Powering Communities Grants” totaling $71,000 to support local community organizations in the Van Wert area. The donations will be used to enhance various programs and organizations that positively affect the lives of citizens throughout the region (click here for more photos).
Building on Eaton’s tradition of corporate citizenship, the company’s “Powering Communities Grants” help improve the quality of life in communities where Eaton employees live, work, and volunteer.
“Giving something back to the communities where we work is a core value of the Eaton culture,” said Chris Bauer, senior HR generalist for the Eaton facility. “These great organizations foster education and improve the quality of life for many citizens in the area — we’re proud to play a part in their important work.”
Funding recipients include:
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mercer, Auglaize & Van Wert Counties — $18,000 for operating support for the youth mentoring programs in Van Wert County.
Community Health Professionals — $10,000 to support the purchase of the ViewWise system software and equipment.
Van Wert County 4-H Council — $5,000 to support the purchase of a new shaved ice trailer.
Van Wert County Crime Victims Services — $3,100 for the purchase of computer equipment.
Vantage Career Center — $3,000 for the STEM summer mini-camp.
YWCA — $22,000 for the purchase of a new water heater and beds for the Transitional Housing Program.
Junior Achievement — $10,000 for operating support to ensure that JA can continue to offer financial and economic educational programs in the Van Wert County Schools.
Eaton’s Van Wert facility employs approximately 1,200 people who manufacture hoses and fittings that are used primarily in the agricultural and industrial industries.
