Jean Arlene Klausing

Jean Arlene Klausing of Van Wert died at 10:55 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

She was born February 19, 1925, in Paulding, the daughter of the late Charles and Goldie (Vincent) Bennett. On April 5, 1969, she married Clarence J. Klausing, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara J. Arnold of Van Wert; stepsons Robert Klausing and Dan (Kelly) Klausing, both of Van Wert; and a stepdaughter, Linda Mitchel of Van Wert.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Calvin Hasty of Wichita Falls, Texas, Jeannette (Steve) Hoehn of Van Wert, Wesley Hasty of Wichita Falls, Texas, Tyla (Tony) Mason of Van Wert, Robert Arnold III of Panama City, Fla., Kari (Clyde) Thatcher of Van Wert, Kristy Klausing of Columbus, Kelli Klausing of Convoy, Frank Klausing of Kansas City, Kan., Les (Ginger) Klausing of Thomasville, N.C., Dustin (Ashley) Klausing of Clearwater, Fla., Derek (Stephanie) Klausing of Land of Lakes, Fla., Danielle (Brad) Klausing-Barker of Van Wert, and Jason Mitchel of Van Wert.

Two sisters, Ruth Bennett and Helen (Bennett) Wyatt; and a brother, Dale Bennett, also preceded her in death.

Jean was a retired employee of Federal-Mogul Corporation in Van Wert. She was an avid bowler and a member of the Van Wert Women’s Bowling Association. She is enshrined in the Bowlers Hall of Fame.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 26, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, July 25, at the funeral home.
