FUMC Preschool staff ready for new year

The First United Methodist Church Preschool is preparing for another school year.

Shanay Taylor is returning for a second year as preschool administrator. She has Bachelor of Science in early childhood education, attending both Youngstown State University and The University of Findlay. She and her husband, Darrin, have been married 15 years and have three children, Alyssa, Chelsea and Austin, who are in seventh and fifth grades at Crestview.

Lisa Hawn is starting her sixth year. She is the pre-kindergarten teacher for the four-day-a-week classroom. She and her husband, Dustin, have been married 12 years and have two children, Courtney and Isaac, who are in sixth grade at Van Wert Middle School.

April Ellerbrock is returning for her third year. She is the pre-K teacher for the three-day-a-week classroom. She is also a YWCA Board member and an independent consultant for Simply Said. She and her husband, Brian, have two boys, Dillion and Dalton, who attend Lincolnview.

Toni Healey returns for her second year of teaching the 3- and 4-year olds class. She has been working in the early childhood field since 2007. She has three boys; Drake, who served in Iraq and lives in Illinois, Wade, a sophomore, and Marshall a seventh grader; both attend Van Wert.

Kristen Conrad will be returning for her second year as an aide in the pre-K class with Hawn. She and her husband, Ty, have been married 11 years and have two children, Parker and Rilee, who attend Van Wert.

Debbie Rager will be returning for her second year as an aide in the pre-K class with Ellerbrock. She is also the weekday school director at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Convoy. She and her husband of 17 years, Nathan, have four children, Isaac, Eli, Micah and Mia, who attend Van Wert.

Kellie May is also returning for her second year as an aide in the 3- and 4-year-olds classroom with Healey. She has a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from the University of Mobile (Ala.). She has a 12-year-old son, Ian.

FUMC Preschool is still accepting registrations for a limited number of children ages 3-5. Those interested can contact Taylor at 419.238.0631, extension 308.
