Tornado siren goes up
Midwest Electric employees assisted Van Wert County Emergency Management Director Rick McCoy with the installation of an outdoor warning siren at the Elgin Town building on Monday morning. The EMA Director said with the recent move of the 1975 thunderbolt siren from the City of Van Wert to Venedocia, the Village of Venedocia in turn gave their smaller siren to the Village of Elgin. The Elgin & Venedocia Sirens are tested on Monday mornings at 10 in synchronization with the Van Wert City, Middle Point and Dixon sirens by the EMA office. McCoy wished to thank Midwest Electric Coop for donating their equipment and personnel for making the siren move. (Van Wert EMA photo)
