County Democrats to have picnic event

Just a reminder that the Central Committee of the Democratic party is planning a picnic this Sunday, August 18, at the home of Jayne Smith, 16676 State Road south of Van Wert. The picnic is open to the party faithful and all other interested persons.

Hot dogs and lemonade will be furnished and those planning to come should bring a chair and a food dish to share. The party starts at 5 p.m.

On Sunday, August 25, Ed Fitzgerald, a Democrat running for governor in 2014, will be coming through Van Wert, and local Democrats have reserved Fountain Park for this event.

Fitzgerald is expected to be in Van Wert at approximately 7 p.m. that day, but that schedule is approximate, as it depends on other campaign stops he has that day.

All are welcome and encouraged to come and support this candidate.
