Neva B. Butler

Neva B. Butler, 96, of Van Wert, died at 1:40 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2013, at Van Wert Manor in Van Wert.

She was born May 15, 1917, in Mercer County, the daughter of the late Emerson and Bertha (Downing) Pond. On March 26, 1936, she married Robert N. Butler, who preceded her in death on September 19, 1995.

Survivors include five children, Connie (Robert) Johnson and James P. (Becky) Butler, both of Van Wert, Larry R. Butler and Danny D. (Nancy) Butler, both of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Jerry L. (Kindra) Butler of Mendon; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

A brother and five sisters all preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, August 12, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from noon-2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
