Lancer girl golfers 4th in own tourney

The Lincolnview Lady Lancers hosted the Lancer Golf Invitational at Hickory Sticks Golf Club, with 36 individuals and nine teams participating.

Match medalist honors went to Coldwater standout Kelsey Koesters, who carded a great round of 74.  Her round consisted of a 35 on the front side with a 39 on the back side.  Her dominance showed as she won the honor by five shots over Annabelle Weisgerber of Defiance.  Weisgerber posted 41 on the front with a 38 on the back.

The team champions were the Lady Bulldogs of Celina, who defeated the Lady Bulldogs of Defiance, 355-357.

Celina Head Coach Kelsey Moorman got consistent scoring from Kelly Stahl and Johna Walls as they both posted scores of 82.  Megan Stetler and Kailee Ross chipped in with 91 and 100, respectively.

Defiance was paced by Weisgerber and a pair of 84s by Lindsay Froelich and Marisa Behringer.  Maddie Glassford tallied a 110.

The Cavaliers of Coldwater and Coach Bret Ayers came in third for the tournament with a team score of 410.  Koesters paced the team with Lauren Sanning (105), Emily Feltz (110), and Rachel Eichenauer (121) rounding out the scoring.

Lincolnview Coach Brad Doidge, longtime mentor of the Lancer girls’ golf program, hosted the tournament, with his Lancers coming in fourth place. Macey Ashbaugh led the team with a solid round of 91. Mikenna Klinger posted a 95 with Makenzie Kraft scoring a 113. Macala Ashbaugh rounded out the scoring with a 120.

Paulding, under the leadership of Mike and Deedi Miller, had a team score of 422 to finish in fifth place.  Jerika Bland and Rachael Mourey posted scores of 101 with Alyssa Shelmadine scoring a 105.  Ellie Miller had a 115 to finish off the score.

John Bruns brought his Marion Local Flyers to the tournament and came away with the sixth position.  Mindy Putoff tallied a 95 to lead the team.  Sarah Twait (100) and Megan Subler (108) combined with Molly Kindle (126) to bring up the team score of 429.

Parkway, under the leadership of Eric Stachler, had the Panthers finish in seventh place with a score of 514. Terra Wall led the team with 98.  Brenna Brazle had a 112 with Taylor Hesse (146) and Liz Dellinger (158) combining for the outcome.

Wayne Trace, under Al Welch, had two individuals participate.  Emilie Linder posted a fine score of 90, with Paige Rahrig not far behind with a 94 of her own.
