Photogs produce produce photos

The Wassenberg Camera Club met Thursday, Aug. 8, at the Wassenberg Art Center. It was a great night for Cindy Pirani, whose slide of cucumbers in a local produce department won first place in the slide competition. Vegetables were the competition theme for the evening and there were an

unusual number of members who did not enter prints or slides. Each was obliged to put a dollar in the “no show cup”. As the only winner, she not only received all the money in the slide cup, but also all of the no-show cup as well.

Treasurer Karl Gribler reported that the club has collected a large number of quality prizes for its upcoming quarter auction. He also announced that he had four tickets to the Cincinnati Reds vs. the New York Mets game at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24. These seats are next to each other and that they will be awarded to the highest bidder. Please call Karl at 419.238.2406 for more information and to place your bid.

President Will Hawkins put out a call for volunteers as the club enters its busy season with the fair and 36^th Annual Wassenberg Photography Exhibit. Volunteers are needed for Sunday, Aug. 25, from 1-5 to take in pictures for the fair’s photography exhibit, Monday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m. to assist with judging, to host the exhibit during the fair, and to check out pictures on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

On Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 14-15, volunteers will be needed from 1-5 to check in entries for the Wassenberg 36th Annual Photography Exhibit. On Saturday, Sept. 21,
a large group will be needed to assist with the jurying process and record the results from 10 a.m. until completion.

The club welcomed Cheryl Knost of Cridersville to the meeting.
