Van Wert independent staff report

The Van Wert City Board of Education met in special session on Wednesday morning at the S.F. Goedde Building and approved Deb Compton as a new board member to replace Jessica Weiss.
Weiss had to resign when her family relocated to Oklahoma.
Compton attended the meeting and said she was pleased to be taking a seat on the board of education.
“I feel that Van Wert High School prepared me well for college and I want to give back to the school and community and think this would be a great fit,” she said.
Compton, who is director of physical rehabilitation for Therapy Solutions, which provides physical therapy services for Van Wert County Hospital, is a 1996 graduate of Van Wert High School who earned a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo and a doctorate in physical therapy from Des Moines University in Iowa.
She is currently working on an MBA from the University of Tiffin.
Compton has a son, LJ, who is 2, while her husband, Luke, works at Vantage Career Center in Van Wert.
